Taken yesterday before going out to lunch with my mother. I really like this photo even though it’s not a ‘good’ shot. I look comfortable and happy and its sunny. And a year ago I would have taken one look at this and gone “nope, I don’t look tiny/perfect/hot/whatever enough” and I’m just so glad that I’m not that girl anymore. New icon picture because it is 2012 tomorrow and I think I look happy. :)
I’ve really changed over this year. I’m really happy with the way 2012 went. I ended an unhealthy relationship, made amazing new friends, developed a very balanced way of eating and started getting into lifting more seriously. I might not be at university yet but I completed year 11 + 12 in one whole year and came out with an OP that impressed even myself.
I had an amazing year. I saw beautiful things. I went to Switzerland and Hong Kong and Canada and I saw my big brother get married for the second time, to someone who makes him truly happy. I got over a lot of my anxieties and let go of so much bitterness towards myself.
I’m just feeling really happy and satisfied now and I wanted to share it all with you.

It was one of the top images for 2011 according to CNN if I’m not mistaken. The caption under the photo said the girl was knocked down and her boyfriend ran to make sure she was okay. I thought there was just that one photo. Ah, this is the most powerful thing I’ve seen on tumblr!

i feel like this is another gif from a movie that you sillies think is real. unless you have a link to this news report… i dont recall cnn having gifs…

It might not be the original article, but it contains the exact same images and adequate photo credits in case you want to check if it’s real. As someone before me commented, there are some differences between the photo and this gif - the boy’s pants are looser, the girl’s shoes don’t have laces, there’s no shopping cart in the original photo. However the images are way too similar in my opinion to be a coincidence but even if it is and this gif is fictional, such thing actually did happen and that’s what I find truly amazing.
